Luna Game Labs was born from my personal journey with mental health.
I was a caregiver for my mother disabled by Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) & Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) during my middle school years. I struggled to relate to her experience, and it was frustrating to express understanding and compassion. I was diagnosed with MDD & GAD in high school, and only then could I begin to empathize with my mother’s hardships.
Video games were my refuge for me during hard developmental years. Escapism provided relief, though also sheltering me from reality at times. Video games were essential in facing my struggles and helped me learn how to cultivate community.
After a decade in Edtech Research, Digital Product Management, and Non-Profit Leadership, I created Luna Game Labs to engage the strengths of gaming to share our mental health journeys.
